Public Health Competencies

Success in public health is measured by competencies. The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice developed the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals to help strengthen public health workforce development. The competencies reflect the skills deemed desireable for the delivery of the Essential Public Health services. More information on competencies is available at http://www.phf.org/competencies.htm

The competencies are divided into the following eight domains:
